Participant Information Sheet.
Needs Assessment Transgender Community.
Kia Ora,
Me.
My name is Sandy Gauntlett and I am with the Regional Alcohol and Drugs Service (RADS). I am working on a project to assess the needs of the Transgender Community. Once the project is completed, I will make recommendations to RADS about our services. They will look at the budget to see if these recommendations can be met.
You may have questions about this questionnaire (or me). You can contact me on 021 250 8532, or at Pitman House on 815 5830. My immediate boss on this project is Joe Wenham and he can also be reached on 815 5830.
The Project
We are doing this in two parts. The first part is a brief questionnaire, which is completely anonymous. It seeks to establish common drugs and drug usage patterns amongst the Transgender Community (in order to match our services with what is happening). The project also wants to find out problem areas for you in terms of our services. For example, we will look at hours of operation, location of clinics, range of staff available, whether drug usage is impacting upon hormone therapy, etc. The final questions in the survey ask what you think could be done to improve our service.
The second part of the project is a short interview with volunteers from the community. This is to try and get more detail about what services or changes you would like to see us making or offering. Please contact me if you would like to take part in this interview.
The Results and Outcomes
When it is complete, the results (and recommendations) will be available from RADS and will also be distributed through key Community groups. (Prostitutes Collective, Agenda, etc)
Important note.
The success of this project will depend largely on the quality of the information that we are able to gather through the questionnaire and interview process. We want you to know that your time and effort in helping us is greatly appreciated.
